Hi – we’re Leigh Ann Wise and Jen Maurer, 10-yr and 20-yr vegans, respectively. We’ve just joined forces to bring you some insights into how we maintain a daily vegan lifestyle. We’ll tell you our favorite products, conduct product reviews, share our favorite recipes, tell you where to find vegan things, and share both our successes and challenges. (i.e. Where do I find NICE, affordable vegan shoes??)
One of the reasons we’re starting our blog right now, is that we think that meat shortages stemming from COVID-19 related closures offer YOU an amazing chance to adopt new vegan practices that will not only relieve some stress on your brain and pocketbook but will keep you healthier during the pandemic.
We’re both BRAND NEW to blogging. Over time we’ll get into who we are and our vegan stories, but we thought for our kickoff week we’ll get right into food! For Day 1 (tomorrow) we’ll each pick 3 of our favorite plant-based meat alternatives and then for next 6 days post a recipe per day to go with them. Each recipe is going to shoot for a minimum 20g of protein per serving, and we’ll rate the recipes based on cooking ease (“1” being easy and quick, “4” being involved and time consuming). We’ll start Sunday, May 17, 2020. So check back!
